hi vicky!
i randomly stumbled onto your blog when googling "rural taiwan."
i've been wanting to visit taiwan forever... my family is from there
i have a few questions!
- how is hitchiking in taiwan? is it like in the states... just stick a thumb out, and off you go?
- do you feel safe traveling as a solo woman?
- how industrialized is taiwan now? did you get to hangout with any of the native peoples in the mountains? how are they? how are the rural areas?
thanks :)
ummm... if it's too many questions, i'd settle with just the first one :)
you rock!
thanks
feel free to email back... jazamoo (at) gmail (dot) com

thank you again!
blessings

The ridiculous journey combined with the actual site is interesting enough, but admittedly, a lot of effort for two people who aren't even fans. There's a lot more to the cemetery we didn't explore (but looked really cool.)

As we were walking up the mountain we were saying how this was either going to the best or worst idea we ever had. Something weird was bound to happen. (Cause it always does!) And if it didn't, I would have been disappointed.

so it was well worth the trek? or would it have not been worth it without the kindness bestowed upon you afterward from the locals?
